If you’re not pregnant yet, there’s a 50% chance that it’s due to a problem with the sperm.

Yes, there are many problems that can cause a couple to have problems in getting pregnant. We spend a LOT of time talking about female reproductive issues. We spend a LOT of TIME, MONEY and EFFORT investigating and treating female reproductive issues, but unfortunately no nearly enough resources are dedicated to investigating and treating male reproductive issues.

Nearly all the same criteria applies when we are talking about male factor infertility and subfertility:

  • age

  • sleep quality and duration

  • energy levels

  • smoking status

  • markers of optimal health

  • alcohol intake

Yet somehow we have landed in a society where women shoulder the lion’s share of the burden of “blame” and the burden of taking action to try to improve their chances of conceiving.

A simple sperm test and a couple of blood markers are often all that are tested, and with the criteria for analysing sperm having been SIGNIFICANTLY adjusted downwards in the past 20 years - most men are given the green light, told their sperm is “fine” and the problem doesn’t relate to them. And what is implied here is that there is nothing that needs to be done, nothing that should be done, to help improve your chances of getting pregnant.

Having been in clinical practice since 2005, and having treated thousands of people in this time, I can say that I do not agree with this sentiment. It’s just plain wrong. It doesn’t match up with the research, it doesn’t match with the clinical data - that if you can improve sperm parameters, if you can improve the overall health and wellbeing of a man, the chances that him and his partner will get pregnant increase.

The best part is, things improve really quickly, and really easily.

I’ve outlined all the advice and treatment strategies that I use with my patients in this book. Nearly 20 years worth of clinical insights, all written in my voice, in my straight-to-the-point style. I don’t worry with giving advice that doesn’t work, or advice that is not going to be helpful. There are things worth putting your effort and attention to - I’ve put them in my book. If something isn’t going to make a massive difference - I haven’t put it in the book. This is a practical, manual of things to do that are worth your time and effort.

There is no shortage of advice and helpful tips to be found online, there are a million supplements and health practices you can read about and wonder if they are going to be the thing that makes the difference. My best recommendation is for you to follow all the steps in my book, and then once you’ve got all these 7 steps happening and you feel like doing extra things - make sure it’s in addition to (not instead of) these 7 crucial steps that I outline in my book.

This book has been a labour of love and frustration, I actually started and finished writing it over 7 years ago, and I made a preliminary attempt to publish it about 5 years ago but couldn’t get to a place where I felt comfortable publishing it. So the final draft has sat dormant in the depths of my google drive for the past 5 years, where I have been ignoring all calls to publish it. I came up with lots of great excuses over these past few years as to why I haven’t published it, but the truth is I just couldn’t find the drive I needed to finish it off and get it out there. All that changed this year with a few inspiring conversations with some key people in my life that have spurred me on, giving me the confidence and energy I needed to finish that last 1% to get it over the line with a cover, a final edit and off to the publishers. It was finally born after a 7 year gestation period, you can now get your copy directly from me by ordering at the top of this page (ebook or paperback).
